2025–2026 Academic Year Course Auditing

Auditing is available to community members for the 2025–2026 academic year. Please read the following information carefully to ensure a smooth experience

Course Auditing Process for Community Members 

  1. Opens: August 7 at 9:00 a.m. 
  2. Course Selection: Choose from a pre-approved list of courses available for auditing (updated as of August 1, 2025). 
  3. Submit Form: The will be sent automatically to the Office of the Registrar.
  4. Confirmation: Auditors will receive a confirmation of their auditing placement within twenty-four hours. This will include a link to set up the appointment described below. 
  5. Closes: August 14 at 5:00 p.m. 
Please Note:
  • The entire process is conducted online; no in-person support is available. 
  • Auditors may not contact faculty directly about auditing courses. 
  • Course slots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • Auditors are limited to one course per semester. 
  • Course auditing is $70 for Friends of º£½ÇÖ±²¥ and $100 for other community members. Course auditing for current º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Employees, current º£½ÇÖ±²¥ employee spouses, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ alums, high school students, and º£½ÇÖ±²¥ students is FREE.

NEW: Mandatory Technology Set-Up Appointment 

All approved auditors must schedule a thirty-minute technology set-up appointment for one of the following dates: 

  • August 26 
  • August 27 
  • August 28 
  • August 29 

During the appointment, auditors will: 

  • Get set up in º£½ÇÖ±²¥’s software systems (e.g., Okta Verify, Canvas, course materials access) 
  • Activate their º£½ÇÖ±²¥ email account 
  • Receive instructions for getting their º£½ÇÖ±²¥ OneCard

Important: Please bring the device you intend to use for accessing course materials.Please note: if you do not attend this appointment, you will not be able to audit a class. These appointments may only be rescheduled if there are still timeslots available and there will be no additional appointments offered.

Course Auditing Process for º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Students, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Employees, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Employee Spouses, and High School Students 

Current º£½ÇÖ±²¥ students, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ employees, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ employee spouses, and high school students must sign up directly through the Registrar’s Office.

  1. Auditing Form Opens: August 7 at 9:00 a.m. 
  2. Course Selection: Choose the course you would like to audit.
    • If you are a º£½ÇÖ±²¥ employee or spouse, please choose your course from our pre-approved list (updated as of August 1, 2025).
    • High school and º£½ÇÖ±²¥ students may choose from the full course offerings, as long as they have instructor permission to join the course. 
  3. Submit Form: Email your completed Course Audit Request Form to registrar@bowdoin.edu.
