Western Foothills Community

Explore the rolling hills of western Maine while learning about rural living, food security, and the history of the region.

Students will have the opportunity to explore Maine’s Western Foothills, a region known for its rolling mountains, close-knit communities, and deep-rooted traditions of resilience and mutual support. While in the area, students will engage with local organizations such as the Bethel Food Pantry, which plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity and supporting families across the region. This hands-on experience will offer valuable insight into rural community care and grassroots service efforts. Accommodations will include access to kitchen and shower facilities.
